Emergency

In response to the effects of the El Niño phenomenon, which has aggravated water scarcity and food insecurity in the region, a regional emergency initiative was launched to mitigate the impact of climate change on food security in Mozambique, Malawi and Zambia.

Within the Emergency sector, numerous initiatives are being implemented to respond to the crises that have affected Southern Africa in recent years, such as the conflict in Cabo Delgado Province and increasingly severe periods of drought.

In response to the effects of the El Niño phenomenon, which has aggravated water scarcity and food insecurity in the region, a regional emergency initiative was launched to mitigate the impact of climate change on food security in Mozambique, Malawi and Zambia.

Through the Ready2ACT project, in collaboration with Fondazione CIMA, the sector works to strengthen coordination mechanisms and national capacities for disaster preparedness and response in Mozambique.
